Emergencies

Finger Lakes Equine Practitioners provides emergency medical services for our patients. We are a two doctor practice, both with families, so if your horse is not a patient we provide routine care to, we will respectfully ask you to contact your primary veterinarian for emergency services. We are not equipped for dystocias and we do not do colic surgery.

If your horse is a regular patient of ours, and you find yourself in an emergency situation, please contact us as soon as possible. We understand most problems are realized around feed time, but please don’t “sit on them” until the middle of the night before deciding it is something that must be seen. There is a sliding scale for the emergency fee depending on the time it comes in.
